Happy Pride and Caribbean Heritage Month! We want to offer you an opportunity to meet Laurie-Anne Sayles who we’ve endorsed for Montgomery County Council in the Democratic Primary. She’s running for an At-Large seat and the election is just days away! Ballots will start getting mailed this month to voters who requested them. Early Voting starts July 7 and goes until July 14. Election Day is July 19.

Progressive Maryland is proud to support her and excited to see that she’s been endorsed by CASA in Action, Jews United for Justice, the Sierra Club, and the unions representing teachers, school personnel, healthcare workers, and county employees.
Laurie-Anne has a strong track record of advocating for living wages, police reform, racial equity, affordable housing, environmental protection, and immigrant rights. She’ll bring her experience as a community organizer, a former Gaithersburg City Council member, and a local and regional leader to the Council.
This gathering will give you a chance to ask questions and find out what she thinks the Council can do to address the issues we care about. There’s a great deal at stake for all of us in Montgomery County in this election. Let’s help usher in a new era and elect a Council that better represents the diversity of our community.
